Objectives and Investment Policy Long-term capital growth and income by investing in Asia Pacific Equity and Bond Markets. This Sub-Fund is not managed by us in reference to a Benchmark. We follow an active management approach. Min. 70% of Sub-Fund assets are invested directly by us in Equities and/or bonds as described in the investment objective. Max. 85% of Sub-Fund assets may be invested by us in Equities and/or in Equities which are business trusts according to “Business Trusts Act 2004” of the Republic of Singapore as described in the investment objective. Max. 85% of Sub-Fund assets may be invested by us in bonds as described in the investment objective. Max. 60% of Sub-Fund assets may be invested in High Yield bonds bearing a typically higher risk and higher potential of gains. Max. 30% of Sub-Fund assets may be invested by us into the China A-Shares market and max. 10% of Sub-Fund assets into the China B-Shares market. Max. 85% of Sub-Fund assets may be held in deposits and/or invested in Money Market Instruments and (up to 10% of Sub-Fund assets) in money market funds for defensive purpose. Sub-Fund assets may be completely invested by us in Emerging Markets. Max. 20% of Sub-Fund assets may be invested by us in ABS and/or MBS. Duration of Sub-Fund assets which are invested in bonds should be below 10 years. Sub-Fund classifies as “equity-fund” according to German Investment Tax Act (GITA). Exposure to the base currency of the Fund (USD) will be hedged to a large extent against the reference currency of the shareclass (GBP) which reduces the potential risks and limits potential gains from exchange rate movements. You may redeem shares of the Fund usually on each business day. We usually distribute the income of the Fund on a monthly basis. Recommended Holding Period: 4 Years Derivatives may be used to offset exposure to price fluctuations (hedging), to take advantage of price differences between two or more markets (arbitrage) or to multiply gains although it may also multiply losses (leverage). SFDR Category – Article 6 (a financial product that does not consider the EU criteria for environmentally sustainable economic activities)

Bio Yu Zhang is a Portfolio Manager at Matthews. He manages the firm’s Asia Dividend and Asia ex Japan Dividend Strategies, and co-manages the China Dividend Strategy. Prior to joining the firm in 2007 as a Research Associate, Yu was an Analyst researching Japanese companies at Aperta Asset Management from 2005 to 2007. Before receiving a graduate degree in the U.S., he was an Associate in the Ningbo, China office of Mitsui & Co., a Japanese general trading firm. Yu received a B.A. in English Language from the Beijing Foreign Studies University, an M.B.A. from Suffolk University and an M.S. in Finance from Boston College. He is fluent in Mandarin.Yu has been a Portfolio Manager of the Matthews Asia Dividend Fund since 2011 and of the Matthews China Dividend Fund since 2012.
