Bio Steven graduated BAcc in Economics and Accountancy from the University of Glasgow in 1992 and completed an MSc in Economics from Warwick University in 1993. Prior to joining Baillie Gifford, Steven was a fixed income investment manager with Scottish Widows. His experience includes seven years undertaking analysis and research for the Bank of England’s Monetary Policy Committee, and involvement in managing the UK’s foreign exchange reserves. Steven joined Baillie Gifford in 2004 and is Head of the Rates and Currencies Team.

Bio Jon Stewart, CFA®, Real Estate Analyst/Portfolio Manager Previously with Standard Life plc, Mr. Pekowitz joined Aberdeen Standard Investments as a result of the merger between Aberdeen Asset Management and Standard Life in August 2017. Mr. Stewart joined the Listed Real Estate team in 2015. Previously, he worked at Liberum where he was a sell-side analyst covering the UK and European real estate sectors. He started his career as a Fund Manager on the UK equities team at Ignis Asset Management covering the real estate, housebuilders and technology sectors. In addition to his analyst responsibilities covering UK and European real estate companies, Mr. Stewart is fund manager for a number of specialist mandates investing in UK and European real estate equities on behalf of internal and external clients. She worked for Scottish Widows Investment Partnership for 15 years, initially in the investment grade team before moving to manage the company’s high yield portfolios. Lesley is an Investment Manager in the High Yield Team & is a CFA Charterholder.

Fund objective

Objective The Fund aims to produce monthly income, whilst seeking to maintain the value of that income and of capital in line with inflation (UK CPI) over five-year periods. Policy The Fund will gain exposure to a wide range of asset classes in any country or sector, subject to exclusion's identified by the Investment Adviser's sustainable investment screening process. At any one time, the Fund may be invested in any one or more of the following: shares, bonds, money market instruments, derivatives, deposits, and cash. This exposure may be achieved directly or indirectly through collective investment schemes. The Fund may also invest indirectly in property, infrastructure, commodities and loans. The purpose of the sustainable investment process, which is applied to all assets except cash and cash-like instruments, derivatives and currency forwards, is to ensure that the Fund invests in a way which is, in the Investment Adviser's opinion, compatible with a sustainable economy. A sustainable economy is defined by the Investment Adviser as an economy which achieves a balance between delivering an economically attractive return for investors (by aligning to the Fund's financial objective) while addressing developing global sustainable environmental and social needs, which will cover a broad range of sustainability topics. Quantitative and qualitative assessments are applied to all assets. More information is included in the Prospectus. The Fund applies a revenue-based screen that excludes companies operating to a significant degree in certain sectors, details of which are disclosed in the Prospectus. The Fund will comply with the Investment Advisor's policy on assessing breaches of the United Nations Global Compact as outlined in its Stewardship Principles and Guidelines document. Currency forwards and derivatives, which are types of financial contracts, are used for both investment purposes and in the management of risk. The Fund will be exposed to foreign currencies and the Fund will be actively managed. Other Information You can sell some or all of your shares on any business day in the United Kingdom by contacting our Dealing Department by phone or post. Where properly completed documentation is received by post, shares will be sold at the next valuation point following receipt of the instruction. Income will be re-invested. No further shares will be purchased but the reinvestment will be reflected in the price of your existing accumulation shares. You are, however, deemed to have received the income for tax purposes.
