UniVision wins invention award
UniVision (AIM: UVEL), the Hong Kong based group whose principal activities are the supply, design, installation and maintenance of closed-circuit television ("CCTV") and surveillance systems, and the sale of security related products, is delighted to announce that, at the 2021 Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions, the Company, together with its partners: Correctional Services Department of the HKSAR Government, Electrical and Mechanical Services Department of the HKSAR Government and the Hong Kong Productivity Council, UniVision won a Silver Medal for its "Smart Prison - Video Analytic Monitoring System" invention.
The video analytic solution of Smart Prison is designed to enhance the effectiveness of movement detection in confined areas. In the case of abrupt massive movement or the unusual stillness of people, it can automatically detect and identify abnormal incidents at any time. This effective detection tool facilitates early intervention and/or prevents any potentially dangerous acts which can save people from injury.
To cope with market needs, one of new directions for the Company is to enhance the CCTV system with reliable and stable video analytic features. We believe our innovation and invention of new technology will bring us a leadership role in the industry.
Stephen Koo, Chairman of UniVision commented:
"We are delighted to have received this international award which recognises our team's expertise and capability in the design and implementation of CCTV and surveillance systems. This video analytic capability enables the prison authorities to detect unusual movement patterns which can help them prevent potential disruption and/or injury in the facility by warning of possible unusual behaviour at an early stage. Our core competence of CCTV system is not only from analogue to digital technology, but we are also investigating into the new area of intelligent video solutions. I believe our business performance will grow further and bring more value to our customers."
