New Brand Engagement and Launch on Tmall Global Brand Station
New Brand Engagement
Sealand Capital Galaxy Limited (LSE: SCGL) announces that it has successfully secured two new brand distribution contracts. The first is for Silllk Aromas Beauty in mainland China. The second is for Missguided Beauty in mainland China, Hong Kong, and Macau ("greater China"). The Company is delighted to add these two brands to its growing brand portfolio.
Atelier Aroma by Silllk Aromas Beauty is formulated and blended in the UK and is a skin and body care brand containing essential oils which are natural and are of the highest therapeutic grade. Missguided Beauty is a global beauty brand targeted at millennials. It is a popular brand of makeup, evolved from the Missguided Masterbrand in 2020, and was established in the UK by the fragrance powerhouse Per-scent.
Tmall Global Brand Station
Sealand is also delighted to announce that the Company has further deepened its presence on Tmall by successfully launching three consumer brands on the Tmall Global Direct Sales Brand Station. Tmall is a leading Chinese-language website for business-to-consumer online retail, allowing local Chinese and international businesses to sell brand name goods to consumers in greater China. To give an indication of its scale; From 1 November to 11 November 2020 the total turnover of the Tmall global carnival season, which traditionally runs over that period, was RMB 498.2 billion (approximately USD 74.1 billion) and the total number of orders was 2.321 billion.
Three of the various brands for which the Company has exclusive distribution rights in greater China i.e. Living Garden, Inari, and The Gruff Stuff, have been introduced on the Tmall Global Direct Sales platform: Tmall Global Super Market.
Tmall Global Super Market is a self-owned direct sales store of Tmall and has approximately 30 million upwardly mobile loyal followers with considerable purchasing power. It is a strong brand development tool, especially for new brands in the greater Chinese market. After entry on the Tmall Global Direct Sales Brand Station; Living Garden, Inari, and The Gruff Stuff brands will have far greater exposure to online shoppers. It is also estimated that the brand's products will receive ten times more unique views than they would have received on the Tmall flagship store, where they are already available. This new arrangement will benefit and speed up sales progress and will increase gross merchandise volumes of the brands for the Company.
Nelson Law, Executive Chairman of the Company, commented:
"We continue to build bridges between Chinese consumers and European merchants of desirable, high quality brands and are very pleased to have added Sillk Aromas Beauty London and Missguided Beauty to our growing range of European brands for which we hold distribution rights."
Law added:
"The Tmall Global Super Market is an efficient tool, and a cost effective way to promote brands and products during their incubation period in the Chinese market. It allows for accelerated initial brand building and brand awareness among consumers. The presence of Living Garden, Inari, and The Gruff Stuff on the Tmall Global Super Market will also allow us to engage well known tier one Key Opinion Leaders, otherwise known as influencers, for live stream sales, which will assist in boosting consumer purchases. Tier one Key Opinion Leaders have A-list celebrity profiles in greater China and can significantly augment product sales by association."
