Suspension of ISO9001 and IRIS Certifications of Main Transformer for Electric Train to be Rescinded at Mitsubishi Electric's Transmission & Distribution Systems Center
TOKYO, July 4, 2022 - Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (TOKYO: 6503) announced today, that effective July 1, 2022, per a special audit LRQA Limited will rescind the suspension of the certifications of design, development and manufacture of main transformer for electric train under the ISO 9001 and IRIS certifications at the company's Transmission & Distribution Systems Center (Amagasaki-city, Hyogo Prefecture). The LRQA suspended the ISO 9001 and IRIS certifications on May 6, in connection with the certain quality-related conduct for transformers rated 22kV 2MVA or above at the Center's Ako Factory, as announced on April 21.
The ISO 9001 certification (ISO:2015/JIS Q 9001:2015; registration number ISO 9001 - 0065200, ISO:2015/JIS Q 9001:2015; registration number ISO 9001 - 0067278) is an international standard for quality management systems.
The IRIS certification (IRIS Certification® Conformity assessment :2020 and based on ISO/TS 22163:2017; registration number YKA4005338) is an international standard for the railway industry.
