Ashmore Group plc ("Ashmore" / the "Company") today announces the appointment of Thuy Dam as a Non-executive Director with effect from 1 June 2023.
Thuy has extensive investment and banking knowledge and brings with her a thorough understanding of the complexity of emerging markets, in particular in Asia. The Board considers that Thuy will be independent on appointment.
Thuy will become a member of the Audit and Risk, Remuneration and Nominations Committees. The structure of the Board Committees with effect from 1 June 2023 will be as follows:

Thuy was a Non-executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Ltd, a closed-end fund trading on the London Stock Exchange's Main Market, from 2014 until 18 April 2023. There are no other details required to be disclosed pursuant to Listing Rule 9.6.13 in connection with her appointment.

Thuy Dam (Non-executive Director)
Thuy is currently the President of the Fulbright University Vietnam and a Non-executive Director of Thien Minh Group Limited. From 2014 to 2023 she was a Non-executive Director and Chair of the Remuneration Committee of VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Ltd.
Thuy began her career as an entrepreneur, co-founding Vietnam's first private foreign investment consultancy firm. She then joined the Australia and New Zealand Bank (ANZ), helping to set up ANZ's investment banking business in Asia and becoming the first Vietnamese citizen to lead an international bank in Vietnam. Thuy was ANZ's Vice Chairwoman for the Greater Mekong Region prior to joining the National Australia Bank as its Chief Representative in Vietnam.
Thuy holds a BA in English from the University of Hanoi and an MBA in Finance from the Wharton School of Business at the University of Pennsylvania.
