Judges Scientific plc

("Judges Scientific" or the "Company")

Board Changes

Judges Scientific, the group focused on acquiring and developing companies in the scientific instrument sector, announces that after 18 years as a member of the Board of Judges Scientific, including 8 years as Non-Executive Director, Ralph Cohen will step down from the Board on 31 December 2023.

The Company is pleased to announce the appointment of Susan Nyman to the Board as an independent Non-Executive Director, with immediate effect.

Sue is an experienced business leader, and National Director in the Advisory practice at Grant Thornton UK LLP, a professional services firm, specialising in areas from client engagement and quality and risk matters to ethics and thought leadership. For over 18 years, Sue was Head of Grant Thornton's Advisory Quality and Risk Management team, a team which she created and successfully built from one person to over twenty. Previously she spent many years as a corporate financier advising public companies.  Sue's work saw her become a member of various external committees in relation to public company reporting and corporate finance technical issues.  She is also the compliance officer for the Public Company Advisory team at Grant Thornton.

Sue has significant experience of being a member of Trust boards, with particular emphasis on finance and governance. Sue is FCA qualified and holds a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics and Economic History from University College London.

Sue will replace Ralph Cohen on the Audit Committee from 1 January 2024.

Commenting on the appointment, Alex Hambro, Chairman of Judges, said:

"With great nostalgia, the Board announces that Ralph Cohen has decided to retire at the end of the year after 18 years with Judges, initially as finance director and latterly as a non-executive director. His contribution to the Group and its culture has been invaluable and he has overseen a period of substantial corporate growth and increase in shareholder value.

We are delighted to welcome Sue to Judges. She brings extensive public company and governance experience to the Board and we look forward to working with her as the Group continues to execute its growth strategy."
