Tony has more than 30 years' experience in recycling, chemicals and engineering contracting sectors; designing, building, and operating diverse processes and manufacturing facilities.  He has held senior positions in global corporations as well as leadership roles in business start-ups.

Most recently, Tony spent two years working for Ascend Elements Inc. developing its lithium-ion battery recycling operations in USA and Europe.  Prior to this, Tony served as General Manager at Whelan Refining Ltd, where they managed the recycling of waste oil to produce base oil. Tony also worked as a Project and Plant Manager at Yelo Enterprises Ltd, overseeing the construction and operation of a rapeseed processing facility and biomass power plant. Tony is a Chartered Chemical Engineer and possess a Fellowship in Manufacturing Management from Cranfield University.

Robin Brundle, Chairman of Technology Minerals and Director of Recyclus, said: "I am delighted to welcome Tony to Recyclus. Tony's extensive experience in the sector will prove invaluable, particularly with our plans to roll-out additional recycling plants in the UK. We are currently assessing three sites in Scotland which are under consideration for our second lithium-ion battery recycling plant. We are proud to have assembled a world-class leadership team in this fast-moving lithium-ion battery space, attracting and retaining top talent to drive the next phase of our growth and expansion."

Tony Walmsley, Operations Director at Recyclus, said: "It is an exciting time to join Recyclus and the team behind the UK's first industrial scale lithium-ion battery recycling plant. I have been impressed by their ambition and growth strategy. My experience in overseeing the construction and operation of multiple plants aligns well with Recyclus' expansion plans. At a time when it is crucial for the UK to enhance its battery recycling capabilities, I am delighted to be working with a national leader in this field."
