CONTRACTOR FATALITY
Adriatic Metals plc ("Adriatic" or "the Company") regrets to report a tragic fatal accident that occurred on 14 August at the Rupice Mine, involving a subcontractor's vehicle. The vehicle overturned near the rescue station at Rupice and tragically the driver, an employee of a local Bosnian subcontractor, sustained fatal injuries. No other individuals were seriously injured in the accident.
The incident did not occur in the area of mining operations; however, the Company has elected to secure the area for a period of 24 hours.
The Company's immediate priority is to ensure the safety and well-being of all individuals involved and to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this accident.
Adriatic has informed the local authorities, regulators and safety inspectors and is working together with all parties to determine the cause of the incident. Adriatic will focus on enhancing all safety protocols and those of our contractors and subcontractors.
Laura Tyler, Interim Chief Executive Officer commented:
"We are all deeply saddened by this tragic incident and our thoughts are with the driver's family, friends and colleagues at this time. Although the incident did not occur at an area of mining operations, we have secured the area for 24 hours."
