- Samsung Electronics has signed a Direct Funding Agreement (DFA) with the U.S.
Department of Commerce for semiconductor subsidies of USD 4.745 billion under
the CHIPS Act.
- The projected investment of USD 37 billion or more will be allocated to cover
construction and equipment costs, with operations tentatively set to commence in 2026.
- However, the target date of commencement and investment amount may change
depending on the situation of the Company and/or the market, etc.
- Samsung Electronics plans to expand its capacity for production of
semiconductors through this investment to address growing demands for core,
cutting-edge system semiconductors as well as to contribute to the stabilization of the
global semiconductor supply chain.
