New BBC ONE Quiz Show Audience Ratings

Zinc Media Group plc (AIM: ZIN), the award-winning television, brand and audio production group, provides an update on the television audience ratings of its new BBC ONE quiz format The Inner Circle, hosted by Amanda Holden.

The fourth episode of The Celebrity Inner Circle aired on Saturday 25 October, and the daytime show completed its third week, marking the halfway point in its initial 6 week run.

On Saturday 25 October, The Celebrity Inner Circle was the most watched TV show in its time slot growing its market share to 28% of all viewers watching television at that time.  Market share is a critical metric of success.  At peak, the show was watched live by over 3 million viewers, and this will increase with catch up and on demand viewing over the next 28 days. In comparison, ITV's Tipping Point: Lucky Stars delivered a peak audience of 1.3m across the same time slot.  The Celebrity Inner Circle was the third most watched family television programme on all of BBC ONE behind Strictly Come Dancing and Michael McIntyre's The Wheel.

The weekday Inner Circle, which airs at 4.30pm, continues to perform strongly, attracting average audiences around 1m viewers each day, in line with long established shows which previously ran in this time slot.

Speaking at the launch of The Inner Circle to global buyers as part of a BBC Studios distribution event at MIPCOM, the BBC's Chief Content Officer cited The Inner Circle as a format 'the whole family can enjoy', as she spoke about Saturday nights on BBC ONE starting with The Inner Circle before continuing with Strictly Come Dancing.

Created by Zinc Media Group's Scottish based production label Tern TV, The Inner Circle was the result of a competitive tender process that ran over several years and initially included over 100 production companies. In the format contestants are pitted against each other in rounds of questions, before being asked to 'split' the prize fund or 'shaft' their opponent in a bid to collect it all.

Investors can view the launch of the show on a new section of the Zinc Media website, along with press comment and social media activity here: https://zincmedia.com/the-inner-circle-press/
