SQS Software Quality Systems AG 11 October 2005 For immediate release 11 October 2005 SQS Software Quality Systems AG Record Attendance at Software Quality Conference SQS Software Quality Systems AG ("SQS"), one of Europe's largest independent providers of software testing and quality management services, is pleased to announce that at the fourth "ICSTEST UK" Software and Systems Quality Conference in London, a record 450 experts (compared to 380 in 2004) met to discuss the latest trends in software quality management and testing. Added to the number of participants at another of its congresses in Dusseldorf, the London attendance figure means that SQS Software Quality Systems has hosted more than 1,200 conference delegates this year (up from 1,080 in 2004). This confirms the appetite within the market for quality assurance, as IT and business become more aligned. In his key note speech Paul Herzlich, an analyst at IT consultancy Ovum summarised that testing will increase in importance as part of the push to align IT to the business: "We need to stand firm on the point that you cannot outsource testing to the same commercial organisation that does the development". As well as five keynote speeches and twenty conference papers, the programme included 16 whole-day workshops and nine interactive workshops. Delegates came from 14 countries across the world, across all industries and size of company. The conference exhibition provided a showcase for 30 service providers and tool vendors. Rudolf van Megen, CEO said: "Just like SQS AG's flotation on AIM, regulated by the London Stock Exchange a fortnight earlier, this conference demonstrates that software quality management and testing is a growing market."
