Appian Technology PLC 03 February 2006 Appian Technology plc / Ticker: ATT / Market: AIM / Sector: Technology 3 February 2006 Appian Technology plc ('Appian' or 'the Company') Order to Equip Further UK Police Cars with the Talon ANPR System Appian Technology plc, the provider of Automatic Number Plate Recognition systems ('ANPR') and traffic management products and solutions, has won a £300,000 order to equip a number of police cars with its Talon ANPR system. This is a significant additional order from a major UK metropolitan police force that has previously fitted further police cars with the Talon ANPR system. The ANPR systems installed on the cars have proved highly successful in targeted operations against serious offenders involved in crimes relating to illegal firearms and drugs. The Directors believe that this additional order is indicative of the rapid roll-out of ANPR across the UK police market and acceptance of ANPR as an essential crime fighting tool. Pat Ryan said "This agreement marks a first major contract win since the Company was admitted to AIM in early January having raised £2.1 million and confirms our ongoing sales drive in the expanding security market. The contract highlights our position as being a leading provider of ANPR systems to government bodies." ** E N D S ** Contacts Pat Ryan Appian Technology Plc Tel: 01628 554 754 Hugo de Salis St. Brides Media & Finance Ltd Tel: 020 7242 4477 Notes to Editors Appian provides high tech products for automatic number plate recognition (' ANPR'), vehicle identification, modern traffic management, parking guidance and car park management problems for the surveillance, counter terrorism, access control and congestion charging markets.
